I love photographing weddings and capturing the raw emotions of the day. I not only shoot in the D.C. area but love a good destination wedding. I hope my journal inspires you.
The Washington Golf & Country Club is one of the best wedding venues in the Washington, DC area. The golf club opened in 1894 and soon after, with Theodore Roosevelt, Coolidge, Taft and Wilson and active members, it became known as the Club of the Presidents.
Your guest will be treated will impeccable service in this elegant venue with breath taking views. It is also centrally located to some great hotels and activities to take advantage of when traveling in to the DC area for a wedding.

McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood & Steaks
Nicole and Matthew picked the Washington Golf & Country Club to match their style and vision of their wedding. They love the Washington, DC area it and was important to incorporate it in their wedding day and photos. Being a DC wedding photographer , I was thrilled to be a part of their wedding.
Nicole picked the Westin Arlington Gateway Hotel to get ready. Photography was a main priority of hers, so she picked the Presidential Suite. This room is a dream come true for a wedding photographer with plenty of room and tons of natural light.
Saying these girls were a blast to photograph is an understatement. As I was shooting some details, I heard the girls cheering someone on. I turned around just in time to capture a photo of Nichole’s mom finishing up an airplane size bottle of Fireball.
The ceremony was at St. Luke Catholic Church, in McLean, VA. The sanctuary was a stunning half circle room giving an overall view of the alter and the exposed pipes of the organ stretching from floor to ceiling. Looking back the other way, is a wall of colorful stain glass windows. Which, create a beautiful backdrop for Nicole and her father, as they walk towards the alter.
Bridal Photos in Washington, DC
After the ceremony the bridal party and I piled in the stretched white Cadillac and headed into Washington, DC. Our first stop was at the Ulysses S. Grant memorial. By placing Nichole, Matthew and the bridal party at the top of the steps and shooting up at them I able to get a stunning unobstructed view of the Capital.
After spending most of our time here, we all jumped back in the limo and headed to our next stop. I took them to a special place on Pennsylvania Avenue, where I was able to put them in a protected area in the middle of the road. This is one of my favorite views of the Capital with rushing cars on either side of them, giving the feeling of a bustling, vibrant city.
After a fun photo session by the Nation’s Capital, it was time to move on to the Washington Golf and Country Club. By the time we got there, the guest have be relaxing with drinks and appetizers on the back deck taking in the spectacular sunset view of the golf course.
If that was not enough, the guest were in for another surprise. As Nicole and Matthew started their first dance, sparkler fountains went off at each corner of the dance floor. The crowd erupted in shock and awe and cheered them on.
The night continued with tons of love and laughter. When it came time for me to go the dance floor was still pack and showed no sign of slowing down.
